A buffet dinner and the offering of silent auction items ranging from exquisite jewelry and art to “experiences” far and wide will accompany the evening’s entertainment. Opera events in Nashville, New York, and places in between are among the silent auction items up for bids.
Guest artists and returning opera program alumni will provide special musical interludes. Current students will display an amazing array of talent, and Opera Theatre Director Dr. Paul Houghtaling will direct. In all, nearly two dozen artists will perform.
All proceeds from the sale of tickets and silent auction items will benefit the UA Opera Theatre and the students who study there.

The Opera Guild at the University of Alabama was formed in November of 2013, with a four-part purpose: to support student artists in the UA Opera Theatre program, to increase ticket sales, donations and fans, to enhance the visibility of opera at the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa and elsewhere, and to educate and reach out to diverse audiences in the community, so they can appreciate all the UA opera program has to offer.
