The Exchange Club Book of Golden Deeds Award is presented annually to an individual making a significant contribution to the Tuscaloosa Community.

The 2016 award was presented at the Exchange Club of Tuscaloosa meeting on June 16 to Jordan Plaster for his extraordinary work as co-founder and chairman of Tuscaloosa Rotary Honor Flight.

There have been seven Honor Flights - day trips to Washington, DC - for war veterans to view war monuments, memorials and more. Over 500 war veterans have made this exhilarating and well-deserved journey. Currently the flights cost $80,000 each. They are free for veterans, and the costs are covered by donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations.

The 8th Honor Flight will be in May of 2017.
