“Every morning we choose how our day will affect us. I choose to embrace each thing that comes at me with a champion’s mentality. Equipped with mental toughness you can overcome anything.”  Dana Duckworth

University of Alabama Gymnastics Coach Dana Duckworth was the guest speaker at the Women’s Division of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s annual fall luncheon on earlier this month at Indian Hills Country Club.

Duckworth shared her vision of ReadBAMARead, her local non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to help replace and replenish local school libraries destroyed in the April 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado.

Duckworth also noted her great pride that the UA Women’s Gymnastics team has been continually recognized for outstanding academic achievement, most recently when gymnast Kim Jacob was named a top-30 finalist for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year.
