Adopt-A-School Program Welcomes Noted Child Advocate During Kickoff Luncheon The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama

The Adopt-A-School program welcomed noted child advocate Elizabeth “Liz” Huntley as keynote speaker during its annual kickoff event, held August 4th at the University Church of Christ.

A passionate litigation attorney with Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC in Birmingham, Huntley is a frequent motivational speaker who talks about her moving personal story. She has recently published a book about her life titled “More Than a Bird.”

Elizabeth “Liz” Huntley was the keynote speaker at the 2016 Adopt-A-School kickoff luncheon.

During the event, the program named Walmart Supercenter Skyland the Decade of Excellence Award recipient. Adopt-A-School, a program of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, also honored thirty-year adopters BBVA Compass, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa, Randall Reilly, Stillman College, Walter Energy and Wells Fargo NA. Twenty-year adopters Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity were also honored. 

Adopt-A-School honored many of its adopters during its annual kickoff event on Aug. 4.

The Adopt-A-School program is now in its 31st year. More than 100 firms in West Alabama serve as adopters for the 58 public schools in the city and county system.
